Solar Buddy Lights distributed in PNG

September 13, 2017

Today the College received notification and thanks from SolarBuddy.Org that the Solar Buddy lights assembled by Siena College students during Science Week in August, have been distributed to families in need in the village of Hanuabada in PNG.

Hanuabada is one of the few remaining stilt villages in PNG.   Last month a devastating fire tore through the community leaving many children and families homeless.   The Solar Buddy lights will provide light for the children in the village to be able to continue to study and read at night while their homes are being rebuilt.
