From the Archives

Recently, Siena hosted a network meeting for thirty-five Victorian archivists. The speaker was Sophie Shilling, the Digital Archivist for the Royal Historic Society of Victoria.  Sophie is the author of Collecting and Preserving Digital Materials – A How to Guide for Historical Societies. It was very informative and important as we move further into the digital age.

The meeting took place in the Calaruega Heritage Centre. The attendees were very appreciative of our College, our heritage display and the tours by our wonderful students.

One of the organisers sent this greatly appreciated email: 'On behalf of the Victorian School Archivists’ Special Interest Group of the ASA, I would like to thank you for hosting this morning’s Network Meeting. We were delighted to come to Siena and everyone greatly enjoyed seeing the beautifully renovated spaces and the displays. The morning tea was lovely (and always welcome!) and the tours conducted by your students were excellent. I think we all came away with a stronger sense of Siena’s history and culture.'
