Be enthusiastic for less plastic - Eco Warriors go on tour!

'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has'.
Margaret Mead

An invitation from St Gregory the Great Primary School in Doncaster provided the Eco Warriors and some of our Year 7 students with an exciting opportunity to work in collaboration with younger students on a creative and hands on environmental initiative.

St Gregory’s environmental theme for the term was 'Be enthusiastic for less plastic' and Siena students were invited to lead a craft activity aimed at minimalising single use plastic within the school playground.  The primary students had prepared potato stamps of marine creatures who are affected by plastic pollution and then stamped these imprints on to fabric bags to be used as snack bags by the students.   Our students worked admirably with the younger students, demonstrating their leadership skills and their strong communication skills.

It is exciting, encouraging and empowering to be part of initiatives such as this and to recognise the enormous potential we all have to make a difference to our world simply by adjusting some of our habits.
