Mission Matters

Year 12 Liturgy

Year 12 students marked their final Religious Education class for the year (and their secondary schooling) with a Liturgy in the final week of last term. The gathering was launched with a special reflection from Mrs Robson-Garth;  College Captains  Jade Devlin and Charlotte Lack then shared their insights on the 2019 College Theme – Called By Name. Teachers offered readings based on this theme and returned the colourful Frames of Faith that the girls had created at their Retreat earlier in the year. Heartfelt thanks to Year 12 Catholic Studies teachers and student leaders for assisting in this celebration.

Dominicans and Art

In the lead up to our Visual Arts and Technology Exhibition it’s important to remember that Dominicans through the ages have recognised the integral part that art plays in preaching God’s word to a hungry world.

Much has been written about the connection between art and spirituality; many individuals have sought to express truth, beauty and belief through the revelatory power of the image.

“The artist is a witness of the invisible and works of art are the clearest proof that the incarnation is possible.”
Pope Francis
