During the year, our Year 9 students have faced their challenges with grace and resourcefulness, producing some outstanding work, as they recycled unused denim clothing items into useable contemporary works of fashion.
Students were asked to use an existing garment – denim jeans, jacket, skirt or shirt, and apply hand-made design motifs as embellishments. These motifs were based on Japanese design and imagery, utilising three dimensional texture or applied two dimensional fabric, along with incorporating hand sewn embroidery where appropriate.
Please enjoy the gallery below of the finished pieces. As we say in Product Design, Less Plastic is Fantastic! and Buy Less/Live More.
