Home learning is an integral part of the learning process and the Dominican faith tradition and assists students by complementing and reinforcing classroom learning and provides a means by which students can take responsibility for their own learning. Home learning also provides an opportunity for parents to work in partnership with teachers and further participate in their daughter’s education.
The Purpose of Home Learning/Study
Students will be encouraged to appreciate that home learning/study:
Reinforces daily schoolwork
Extends learning beyond the classroom
Provides extension work for students
Facilitates good study skills and assists students in becoming independent learners
Develops good learning habits through planning, organisation and time management
Is an opportunity for them to reflect on their classroom learning and to determine what they know / do not know
Home Learning may commence for Year 7 students on Monday, 24 February 2020. This week, parents will receive a News Alert with details regarding the Year 7 Semester One Academic Calendar.
