Twenty Year 10 to 12 students have returned from an amazing Cape York Immersion! Starting with a warm Welcome to Country at Melsonby after arriving in Cairns, they camped on Country, explored ancient rock art, learned about bush medicine and collaborated closely with Traditional Owners.
Highlights included painting a mural with Aunty Julie, tracking wildlife, engaging in traditional fishing and preparing a Gurrma Feast. Their journey continued through Hopevale, Mossman Gorge and Green Island, culminating in a snorkelling adventure on the Great Barrier Reef. This journey was truly transformative, fostering deep cultural understanding, meaningful connections and unforgettable memories.
