To commemorate National Reconciliation Week, Kurrajong organised a bake sale and hosted a movie screening over three lunchtimes, selling lollies and popcorn to support the Opening The Doors Foundation. Our Debating and Public Speaking Leader, Charlotte L and Four Way Test Public Speaking Showcase runner up, Ciara W facilitated a Public Speaking workshop series for our Year 7 and 8 students. The series focused on the 2024 Reconciliation Week theme, Now more than ever as well as speech writing techniques and presentation skills.

As a runner up in the Rotary Club’s public speaking competition, Ciara was awarded $1,000 to donate to a charity of her choice, and she graciously chose the Opening The Doors Foundation. The proceeds from our events, along with Ciara’s generous donation, will support this Aboriginal led community organisation. The Foundation enables First Nations students to participate fully and equally in education and supports families in making informed choices about their children’s future.
