Congratulations to Shehrbano J (Year 10) on achieving Second Place in the Balwyn Rotary Youth Public Speaking Showcase! In her speech The Danger of Not Knowing, Shehrbano examined the lack of awareness surrounding civics, politics and current affairs, highlighting the importance of Australians being able to make informed decisions. Her thoughtful insights, strong research and confident delivery were recognised in a highly competitive field of finalists.
As one of eight Senior Finalists (Year 10 and 11) across the four Rotary speaking competitions, Sherbano will progress to compete at the district level and has also secured a $1,000 donation to a charity of her choice, extending the impact of her achievement beyond the competition itself. Well done!
